Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is dedicated to treating defects and injuries of the head, face and neck including the mouth, teeth, and jaws. The department is fully equiped to provide treatment across the expanded scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Treatment is provided in a setting that allows the future practitioners in the speciality to obtain training through observation, and hands on training under the supervision of experienced surgeons.
We offer diagnostic evaluation and surgical care for patients of all ages for:
- Wisdom tooth extractions (dental extractions)
- Tumor and Cyst Removal
- Dental Implant Placement
- Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma
- Facial Pain and TMJ Disorders
- Oral Cancer Evaluation and Biopsy
- Minor Oral Surgery including Preprosthetic Surgery
Our mission is to provide advanced surgical services to our patients, while educating and training future surgeons to become highly competent and caring clinicians, and future leaders of our profession.

The department has three sections, catering to all the needs of the patient may it be simple exodontia, minor oral surgery or major Maxillofacial surgery.
The clinic caters to the basic exodontia. Batches from the third and the final year of B.D.S are posted in the department. Staff and clinical assistants working in the department guide the students. Best of the instruments are used in the department with 25 state of art dental chairs. There is a separate sterilization area in the department.
- Minor OT
For the Minor surgical work under local anesthesia and sedation, there are 5 dental chairs in a separate area, designated as the Minor O.T. There is a Separate recovery room for patients who require postoperative care after, either basic extractions or minor surgeries.
- Major OT
The department has an exclusive operation theatre of its own with its separate, sterilization room and recovery room.
- In Patient Wards
There are two in-patient wards separate for males and females having a total of 10 beds.
The department enjoys the facility of having a spacious seminar room, for the students. Case presentations and seminars are discussed on weekly basis.
